Double Kitchen Islands are trending and for good reason according to the NKBA. 2022 trends have begun already in 2021 with kitchens designed with two islands or more instead of one. We have already seen our clients moving in this direction. Several things to consider when choosing to add a second island for workspace or gathering. First, be sure to have a minimum of 3 feet between the cabinets for ease of movement and flow. In addition, be sure to check for clearance and ease of use of pullout cabinets. Next, because of limited space, it’s not recommended to have appliances in between the two islands.
